well its thrown together pretty fast for the price I'm sure. Its good enough for her because she is a kid. If I was an adult I personally wouldn't buy any odd sized scales. I would stick to 24.75 or 25.5. I haven't played the mini squire but I'm sure it will have problems staying in tune, but I haven't had one so its just a speculation.
I've got a Fender Strat Jr. (MIM). I don't believe they make them anymore, but they are very high quality. Don't waste you time with a Strat "Mini". I had 2 of them, that I returned and they were very poor quality. You might find a Jr. kicking around somewhere.
I haven't tried those "Traveler" guitars, but they look pretty neat.

The Fender Jr. is a real Fender! not a Squire. Are very hard to find but i try it.
talking about of the stay in tune of the different scale guitar´s, my 3/4 Taylor is like a real big guitar, and sounds incredible, very high an clear
