Cool, I've been wondering how they do the staining without running over and stuff.

Tim, would you say the neck carve is fatter than a W/F?

As much money as we spend on geetars, I still think the manufacturers could come up with some type of wood laminate to replace the plastic control covers. It may not match the body wood exactly, but it would damn sure look better than the black plastic.

I think it might be a tad fatter - I don't have a W/F handy to compare to but my fingers think it might be a bit chunkier than the SC245 that I had. If you like a Gibson/PRS neck then this is a great neck.

They sell that faux wood shelf tack paper at Home Depot, maybe I'll try that :ROTF:

I agree though - for as much as this guitar cost they could have run a small piece of scrap mahogany through the CNC machine.

Thanks for the link! See, this is a prime example. This would look worlds better than black plastic. Let me be clear, the example above would not match your PRS, but I bet that builder could fix you up with something that did.

I've never even thought about non-plastic covers before, but seeing those pics has made me think. I know a chap who does veneers for Jags and Astons, and it's really thin stuff, and some really sexy wood. I'm going to have a little word with him....

Oh, nice one chaps, trying to make poor old Tim think his guitar is in the Shirtlifters' team colours, you are the type of bastards who tell a bloke his wonderful new girlfriend's eyes are too close together, when it had never even crossed his mind before. No matter how much he tries to ignore it now, there will always be the teensy-weensiest doubt lurking at the back of his mind that people will see him play it and assume he is a fudge-packer. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

I have to say it doesn't really do anything for me Tim, in fact, dare I say it, I think it looks 'orrible! But if it plays well, and you are happy..........fair enough!
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

                    I nearly broke her back

That's what I'm hoping for. Then, maybe he'll unload it to me for a few hundred. Besides, at my age, I don't give a flying flip how I'm categorized!

                        Those look real nice.
I have a pup ring on a Hamer Artist that buzzes. Do you think that a wooden one would not do that?

I've tried to tighten the screws on the pup ring, but no go.

Yes, but it would be a "warmer" rattle!

                              I'll give it a shot.
It's a nice sounding guitar, but, I can hear that rattle.
                              Drives me nuts.

Dude, I use a pink Hello Kitty guitar when I play biker bars - I don't think a few men on the JCF that are unsure of their own sexual preferences are going to have much affect on me :ROTF:
