ESP KH-2 Customer Guitar - Where's it built?

Hello All,

Im having trouble verifying where my KH-2 was built. It's approx 17 yrs old & has the 'custom guitars' stamp on the back of the headstock. I was led to believe this model was non mass production line but i need clarity. Does anyone know. Im aware that it's Japanese built but is it actually custom built or the same factory as all other standard esp's. Any help would be appreciated.

Allot of people do not know this but it says "Custom Guitars" on that stamp. So people assume its a custom shop but it is not.

It was a misleading marketing campaign by ESP in the 90's for export customers. Its just a standard production ESP made in Japan on their standard line. I do know they have a few factories around Japan where they manufacture their guitars. I do not know specifics.

Allot of the bolt on models like the JH2 where marketed as limited manufature for the USA but they made a bunch in Japan.

Still nice guitars.
