Matt's Music was able to get me a beautiful specimen.
Yes he was! Beautiful.

My first real guitar was a les paul (jazzmasters don't count haha!), but I'll probly never get another unless I'm super rich and get a custom shop.
However, I was very interested in this one like a lot of people here.
I checked one out in guitar center for an hour and this is my grading:
Neck joint: A+ all Les Pauls should have this, playing in the A (17th fret) position was much more comfortable:
Floyd: A, My ears not super sensitive but it did not affect the clean sound too much, maybe a little thinner sounding, but still sounded like what I remember, integrated nicely with guitar and did not take away from Les Paul feel and sound.I think it was a chinese one, though seemed kind of cheap
and the nut had a jagged spur on it that almost cut me.
contour, lighter weight: F!!! LPs should be heavey and stab your ribs, makes you play with more feeling!!
Fit, Finish: C $600 Epiphone felt better quality
Price: F Gibson has a great business model: LP studio = $1200 LP Classic = $2200, 1000 for what?
If they made a studio with the new neck joint and floyd, priced it at $1400, it would would be awsome, it still was a blast to play though definitely!!!!!
