  • Did ESP ever have a RR copy?

I'm a Jackson freak and don't really know anything about ESP. Just curious if ESP ever had a RR replica of any kind, right down to the control plate and headstock. I know about the Alex Laiho (sp) model.

ESP has this brand Edwards in Japan that has a RR copy. I know they can get away with it because its overseas.

    thanks.

they do, it's just a tad different.

it's called the SV. it doesn't have the guard or anything, though. it's similar to the laiho, with the pinstripes, but with different pickup configurations, mostly H H.

      The Edwards RR copy

Here is the Edwards RR copy i'm buying this saturday for $350.00. I'm a Lefty, so this should rule considering I can't find Jackson RR's ANYWHERE, except the USA models that are running around 1k+. alder, neck-thru, binding, emgs, Gold OFR,

Check out this blatant rip off lol

ESP did used to make the SV a lot more like an RR. it just wasn't available in the US. it was available in europe and asia. while ESP makes some rip-offs, it has become good business for them. they offer an affordable, good quality version of a guitar that is really expensive in the markets they sell in.

for example, a USA RR might be $5000 in finland. the ESP version (which despite many of our wishes CAN be just as well built) would be $2300. i am not talking LTD either - back when they made those exact replica's, there was no LTD....
        GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

        and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

the current SV has been modified to alleviate lawsuits AND allow better access to the 24th fret. i played an older kai hansen signature SV a couple of months back...man that thing was AWESOME!!!!!!! i wish i could have afforded it...

Yes, ESP has everything for overseas customers. That have a badass Spitz Rhoads for sale right now it is expensive at 1600 dollars used. It is an exact copy of a Jackson RR.

Actually I cant find pics of it but I made a thread about it when it first went on sale in Efraid of Ebay.

Truthfully i liked the esp version above better than the jackson , even though it was a copy of the rr1 , it had nicer touches I.E. reverse sharkies, rear loaded controls and unfinished neck.

thats a very nice esp! I've been GASing for a mid 80's Lefty bc rich for awhile and the only thing distracting me from the search is this RR copy. If I can't find that BC rich by this weekend, i'm buying the Edwards.

If you are intrested this seller will probably let the ESP RR go for 1100 but shipping from Japan is usually a 100 dollars. Nevermind you said lefty.

Death Thrash, does that Edwards Rhoads have 22 or 24 frets? Looks like 22, but the picture is kinda blurry..
Nice guitar too, I would grab that up in a heartbeat if I were you, cause it is very hard to find left handed stuff.
I put my order in for a lefty Rhoads body (1 humbucker/1volume/recessed Floyd) from KNE and I'm using my DK2L as the parts donor. I know you were asking about KNE's before, so I'll let you know what its like when I get it.

Leftyzrule580 bought the body from me and I believe he is planning on buying a DK2M neck for it, which should be a very cool guitar when he is done with it.
If I would have kept it, that was going to be my next move.

Yeah , its definitely 22 fret. The guy was asking $500 for it. I guess the quality is almost ESP, just under. He said there are some scratches and a few finish cracks around the points, but nothing serious. I should have probably offered less than 350 because I don't want a guitar that has some chips and shit.
