what pickup would u recomend?

hi there im builing my own guitar is basicly gona look like the evh charvel without the graphic and the logo obv

iv decided on a gotoh locking trem but havnt made my mind up on the bridge pickup

i am interested in the seymour duncan tb 6 or a dimarzio super distortion


does any body have guitar with these pickups and which would you reccomend thanx

If so, Custom Custom, EVH or 78 from Duncan.

A Duncan Distortion will sound like early Lynch, and the Super D I would use for Maiden, Kiss or Priest.

I avoided a JB like the plague for 20 years because everyone and there brother had one (I like going against the grain).

I got an SL2H a year ago and now the JB (or is it just the combination of JB + axe) is my favorite (or at least the tone coming from this axe is my favorite). The only mod I'll make is adding a split. Was playing it last night with a "hilbilly" split and was doing some Rush (Limelight) and some Pat Benatar stuff (Precious Time, Treat Me right, You Better Run).

I'm not into strats with single coils (I'm a Metal Head) but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

That's what I thought--the Duncan '78 was the EVH before Eddie gave his endorsement approval. This would be the one I would go with as well, but it would also depend on what your body wood is.
