I don't think Alexi has even hit his full potential yet, I think the guy has only begun to show us what he’s capable of. I'd like to see a real Rhoads in his hands when he does.
Have you checked out Sinergy? He and Roope play a lot better stuff in Sinergy than in COB, in my opinion. Plus, Sinergy features actual singing and much better songs.

There are three Sinergy albums plus a fourth that's been on hold for quite a few years now.

Children of Bodem are awesome and I don't know anyone, young or old, who doesn't dig them. Roope and Alexi just looked so darn cool playing Jacksons and Bodem fans who pay attention to detail will tell you so. Fender has so much money, I'm sure they could "sign" Alexi or Roope after their contracts with ESP are up. They seem to have established enough musical longevity and popularity to make them great future prospects.
FMIC could, but they won't. So many artists have left Jackson for ESP and it's always because ESP offers much better deals to their endorsed artists. It would be great if that changed, but don't hold your breath.

Having said that, the result in Alexi's case has been a lucrative deal and his own sig models which, when you get down to the 200 level, are actually nicer than what Jackson offers at that price point. Figure the JS30RR is the closest thing in the Jackson line to the 200 and it doesn't compare that well. Then you have the RR3 vs. the 600 and it gets harder to decide, but 24 frets is the inducement to a lot of people. The RR3 only has 22, I wouldn't buy one for that reason alone.

So a few cool guitars have come out of the split ranging from super expensive to super affordable. That's good for players, especially the more affordable ones.

Sinergy is - or was - a great power metal band! I doubt Alexi and Roope will ever go back though. Who wants to hang with their ex when their main band is doing well?

Kimberly has a killer voice and is very talented herself though. At this point I feel Alexi should let her go get a new lineup and move forward. It wouldn't be the same without Alexi and Roope, but that's not going to happen and her voice is too good to be sitting and doing nothing.

Failing that, she should just get on with something else.

Psh. That's nothing. Yesterday the cold spell here finally broke. We got between -30C and -40C without the windchill for a week or so straight.

Nope, never heard of Sinergy actually. I'll check them out though. My biggest problem with COB is I heard three songs by them and really couldn't tell what was guitar and what was synth. That's kind of why i warmed up to the guitar world stuff i could tell he was playing. I should just go out and buy a couple COB albums and see. I have a tendency to enjoy stuff more through my headphones then through videos and radio
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Interestingly enough, I went to a guitar shop in my area today where I haven't been in years. They carry a lot of overpriced high end stuff and they act kind of stuffy. Anyway, now they are an ESP dealer and had a bunch in stock. They had a LTD 600 Alexi in black with pink pinstripes and inlays for $999.00. It looked absolutely hideous, but three young teenage boys were drooling over it, while one of their girlfriends was diggin' a cool Tele. Go figure.

the alexi-600 ltd's run the 1k+ price range and the ESP models are in the 2k+ range so the new alexi sigs will be around that price range.

the new scythe ones have been around a while now under the edwards name in japan im stoked that ESP is making them in an ltd version available easily in the US.
