The guitar I am referring to is the one used by the backup man for Albert King in this video. Looks like like a wicked double cutaway (kinda like a Rev Daredevil or a Gibson Johnny A -- just not hollow). I hope someone can steer me in the right direction. The guitar becomes visible around the 2:24 mark.

    Thanks as always!

Looks like a Yamaha SG3000? SG2000? SG something or other. They have a big following.

I think Rick Emmit from Triumph loved them. It was a bitch trying to find a video of him using one. He seems to like all thing Yamaha.

Appreciate it Don! Awesome! I may try to find one in the future. I just love the look of that guitar. After I posted, I thought it may have been an Ibanez Artist but I think you are right with Yamaha.

They are popular = costly. I was looking for one 6 months ago or so and lost interest. From what I know, the body is a butcher block of a bunch of pieces of wood. They were made copying Les Pauls during the pancake era, when heavy guitars were the rage for sustain.

Yamaha might have re-issued these, which might be cheaper than the originals.
