  • I know these aren't liked here...

But I'd love to hear your advice with this. I was at my local music store today, and I found an ESP LTD George Lynch Suburst Tiger for $650, hardshell included. It's pretty old, Korean made, hockey stick shaped headstock, with Duncan Designed's in it. I played it and fell in love with it. I offered the guy $600 (The music store is selling it for the owner).

The only problems I have is that it has Duncan Designs, and all of the knicks on it. I thought all of the Lynch models had the real Duncans in it. Also all the knicks kinda make it unappealing. Is $600 a good price if he accepts?

I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Seems on the high side in a buyer's market like this. You are close to the lower end of the used MIJ ESP's at that price point.

How much should I offer him then?

          $400?

I hate the ESP's because they only paint half of the guitar.

          I'd scout out a Bengal DK2M instead.

That's too high for one that isn't in good shape. DonP has it's value pegged. Offer no more than $400. The Lynch LTD's come with Duncan Designed pick-ups for the most part. Good luck!

Oh god, I had the chance to get a Bengal DK2M a while back, I regret not getting it

Alright, I'll call the place tomorow and tell them to offer him $400. I did like it but I'm not willing to overpay. Thanks guys.

This model is the ESP LTD GL-500T and they came with the Duncan Designed pickups. I have the GL-500K (the Kamikaze) and it has the Duncan Designed pickups too, but it sounds great.

As mentioned above, $400 or less. Here's the H-C reviews, people paid $370 to $440 used. FYI, they listed for $699 back in the day.

Put it this way...I got 650 for my Sam Ash special Bengal which had an actual Screamin' Demon and an original Floyd. And it was in pristine condition.

IMO the DK2M bengal looks like ass.

I had a chance to play one of those Burst Bengals alongside a real ESPee Kamikaze a few years ago.

The Kami weighed a ton and the neck felt a mile wide. The Bengal felt like they ripped off the DK2 head to toe.

I own the ESP (not LTD) Sunburst Tiger. I bought it used and immaculate for a grand. Incredible guitar even if only half of it is painted.

everyone is right. 600 is too much and they listed just over that. If you HAD the 650 I'd say keep saving for the real thing because you'd be tons happier. If you don't want or can't spend more than 650 then for sure don't spend more than 4 as these guys are advising. They're right on.
Why the hell doesn't Eddie pick up a goddamned guitar and play something?

NewC I haven't tried a real ESP, but I think the wood is completely different than the LTD's, and the Tiger did feel like a DK2M besides the huge headstock

and 85, If I could save up for the real ESP Tiger I wouldn't do it, I'd buy another esp for that much, either the Snake LTD for a grand or something else.
