  • ESP LTD KH-202 vs. the pickguard

So im basically trying to go for that KH-4 pickguard look insight is appreciated. Do you like the pickguard? Do you think it would look better with it off or on? Sorry for the huge pic

Note: This is just a first time paper mock up so you can get a general idea of what im going for.

I like the pickguard. Just get one made and attach it with doublesided tape to start with, in case you hate it...
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Good job with the paper !!

I actually really like it, that one asshole from Chimaira has a really nice guitar imo jue because of it and the single humbucker, but that does look nice, do it to it!

I was actually going to try some static type tape that will just stick to the pickguard. Only holes I want to put in it are for the 3 way blade selector switch and the 3 knobs. Im hoping it will work the way i want it to if not all i will need will be a few little peices of the double sided tape.

as you already know, i agree with the double sided tape. last thing you want to happen when youre thrashin about is to have your pickguard come up and let your string get stuck to the pickups. static is ok if you dont move, but if you run across stages and headbang like theres no tomorrow then chances are it wont hold.

Is it Vol-Vol-Tone or Vol-Tone-Tone? I would lose one knob, either way, and go 2V or V-T.

yeah, remove the knob closest to the bridge pickup. either way i think it'll have to be a custom job, since you cant actually move the knobs.

nah i will leave everything as-is as far as the knobs go, they dont get in my way but the config is v-v-t

I'd think trying to mount the controls in that pickguard without routing out the front will come out klunky and not be worth the trouble.
