way back in 1988 i had a yamaha rgx211. it was awesome. mahogany body, mahogany bolt-on neck, 24 frets, 24 3/4 scale....it was just a killer. i LOVED that guitar. i bought it as a teenager, my first new guitar i bought on my own!!!!
well, when it came time to move out of my parents house at 18 i needed cash and i sold most of my then aquired guitars, amps, and cabs. the rgx211 went fast.
i have spent the last 15 years looking for another one that had the specs of my original rgx. i have failed many times.
about 2 years ago i bought THIS rgx211 off e-bay. the seller assured me the neck was painted and the heel was square - two MAJOR indicators of the original rgx211....well, when it arrived, i was sad. the neck is a finished maple and the heel is an all-access type of thing.
i NEVER played. i threw it in the closet and forgot all about it. well, about a month ago i saw it again and figured i'd do something fun to it....i had already tried to strip it and burn it like my old one....i had lost interest because it just wasn't the same guitar. so i had a half stripped on torched guitar.
that's when i did THIS!!!!! i call it "the happiest guitar in the world".
it is covered with sparkly stickers and rhinestones. it should make a great stage guitar. i have a bit of a sense of humor on stage and this will be fun for a while.
i have some multi-colored dimarzio's on order...a yellow/green zebra PAF pro for the bridge and a pink HS-3 for the neck. the trem is shit so it will be blocked.
hopefully it works well and the stickers don't peel off!!!! i figure if my holoflake soloist sparkles under the light, this one should too!!!!! YAY!!!!!
