  • DV8 question

Did the DV8 ever come with a battery box installed factory on the lower wing?

and please correct me if I am wrong.

    there are two ESP versions.

the "artist signature version" and "the custom shop version" the latter with a much higher price tag.

    ?

I'd assume that when they started using the Livewires that it had a battery box.

Me neither. Just the LTD and the ESP versions.

That would make more sense, in which case the difference would be the ESP is handmade in Japan, and the LTD Korean made. Other than that I think that's it.

I know Dean makes three versions of his sig model... one USA Custom with flamed maple top, the Korean version without maple top, and then the lower grade bolt-on (not sure if that's Korean or Indonesian). Not sure if ESP has done anything like this or not.

I've seen two ESP versions. Some say "artist signature model" on the back of the headstock, and I've also seen a few that said "ESP custom" on the back of the headstock.

                Seriously.

ESP Custom marked guitars are not strictly custom shop guitars as it just indicates a superior build/material quality than the standard series. Maybe the ones you saw were built before they started marking artist signature models differently.

It's strange. It seems like some of the artist signature models are custom shop and some aren't.

For instance. The Laiho V, is around a $1700 $1800 guitar, whre as the Michael Paget V is closer to $4,000

I think that some of the less popular artist signature guitars are custom shop?
