I have been GASing for a carvin in their triple step deep purple( they've got the best purple to me). The last Carvin thread made my GAS even worse. This came along on ebay and I couldn't resist. It's from Carvin but sold as used since the back is chipped to hell. The front is perfect though. The triple step would have been better but this is still an amazing top. $626 shipped with case.

They have the best tops around and yours shows it.

I haven't tried this trem out yet but I know what you mean. The washburn that I had( shouldn't have sold) the trem was very smooth and barely went out of tune with a full dive. The only "floyd Rose" style trem that was as smooth was the gotoh that was on my Gunslinger(another one I shouldn't have sold).

I've owned a Carvin. Those do play great and they do have fine tops on them. But here's the "problem" with Carvin for me. I can't get rid of it if I want to get something else. Carvin just doesn't sell here in Norway. So if I buy one I'd have to keep it or go way down in price to get it sold.
I have no clue why given the fact that it's a well-performing guitar, is cheap considering what you get AND it is built in the U.S.A.

Problem no.2 is that I don't like any of the pick-ups, but I could change those...

How is it to sell a Carvin in the states? Do they have a good name there? Are they easy to sell?

they don't have great resale value but I paid $626 for a guitar tha new is over 1,000, so i'm good if I ever want to sell it. Unless I'm starving I will never sell this one.
I didn't think I would like their pickups but I actually really like the stock bridge pickup.

It's nice to see a Carvin on the JCF! I mainly collect Jacksons...but Carvins(and lawsuit Ibanezs) are favorites as well!

They are not a big enough name, I think. Who plays them? Tony Mac & Benny, Holdsworth. Not the biggest names. Vai plays their amps, but his face spells Ibanez (I know he played Jackson first. Why did he change? I'd pick a Jackson over his piece of crap Ibanez anyday). Walsh of The Eagles plays Carvin guitars now and says they play better than any new Gibson. Maybe that'll turn the tide?

Yep. Having a celeb endores a product pretty much trumps anything.

I think that being direct buy only, custom order only, and most of their guitar shapes are just a little off looking doesn't help either. I have to say it though this ones getting played alot right now.
