Most Andersons and Suhrs street for well under the $4500-$5000 mentioned above...those have to be list prices or the store only orders crazy exotic pieces.

Are they worth the $$$ (Suhr/Anderson/Grosch)? I would say yes if you are a serious player and truly care about attention to detail (anyone who says they aren't a cut above doesn't know what it means to play a truly better instrument).

Otherwise, I would say they are great if you can afford one, but there are plenty of less expensive guitars out there that will do the trick for you if you can't. It's really a personal thing for the most part.

I've owned several Suhr's. They are top notch. Not for me though. Indoor Storm is very close and they are one of the best Suhr dealers around so I've had a shot at a lot of them.

Grosh/Anderson/Tyler are in the same league with Suhr.

Between Suhr/Grosh/Anderson/Tyler my first choice would be Grosh for sure - much more interesting guitars and fantastic necks.

I much prefer my GMW's and PRS's over all of those though.

I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

When you get into the higher end guitars I think its personal opinion and choice - whatever fits YOU best - Suhr, Tyler, Anderson.

There is a shop around where I live that carries several Suhrs and I have played maybe 10 of them now.

FOR ME PERSONALLY I find many other guitars built as well - G&L for example. My Jackson Custom shop is as good as any top notch builder out there. I also have a Rico Jr that is as high quality as they come.

The one thing I can say about Suhrs is I do like the way they sound. The tone seems to be very good on them. I think this is the care they put into choosing their wood. But a lot of builders choose great wood. I find their necks to be average not great.

For some reason I have never bonded with a Suhr and I have tried given all the good reviews they get on all of the forums.

btw, do they not come with pickup bezels by default? I can't see where you specified not to have them

I love both of those but that purple one is beyond awesome...swap the volume and toggle around and I'd be in business.

I believe that the moderns come w/o bezels as standard.
It's a NC option to have them added.

Those 2 are just awesome. Bet they play killer.

                  Even though they have floyds..

Interesting. Suhr does not like to put Maple necks on Mahogany guitars typically especially with a maple board to boot.

They recommend a mahogany neck with a mahogany body - and they note you can put a maple board and maple top on this combo.

From what I have read he says the frequencies don't go together to get a good tone but I have seen enough guitars with this combo to have a different opinion (PC1 for example).

Yeah, but he'll do it if you really want it.
There's very little they will say outright NO to. As long as you keep it in his product line.
