Just bought this from a HC forum member. RG2550Z GBK. I have been scoping out these and the 3550's which has the maple board and costs a bit more. Decided I didn't like the way the inlays looked on the maple board as opposed to the rosewood. Anyhooo, price was respectable so I jumped on it. If all goes smoothly I should have it in a week or less. In the mean time, I copied the pic from the current owner. To me, this thing just looks drop dead sexy.

How do you like your RG2550z? How much did you pay for it? And how feel the Edge Zero?
I'm about to pull the trigger on one also but I'm not sure yet. I have a RG7620 (7 string) that I really like.
I would really appreciate your comments on your new RG2550z as you are a new owner.
Hope to hear from you.

BenoA - I will not receive this until probably this weekend, maybe early next week. I have played a 2550 before. It played much like many other Prestige models. If you like the neck profile and the trem then it is mostly a matter of pickups - the type and the way they are mounted (pickguard or direct). The Zero trem seemed to work very well on the one I noodled around with. Though I reserve the right to dislike it after I actually own one for a while. I've heard glowing reviews and glaring horror stories, all from very reputable sources - people's opinions I value highly. I have heard it can be a PITA to deal with during setup. As for what I DO know very well, I really like the Edge Pro. I prefer it over the OFR and LFR.
Spivonious - The 4 digit number seem to reflect the Prestige line mainly. 1550, 1570, 2550, 2570, 3550, etc. However, I could be wrong. Main thing to consider is this... The higher the 4 digit number, the higher the price tag, generally. On the 2550Z GBK it is a Prestige line 2550 with the Zero (Z) trem, and the color is Galaxy Black (GBK)In an insane world, only the sane seem crazy.

Took a few minutes during my lunch time and went to a local store to try out an Edge Zero. To my surprise they had a RG2550z, played it through one of those Vox digital amps.
Nice looking guitar, I like the sparkles in the paint and the kinda "dark coppery" color of the pickguard.
The guitar played quite well. Neck was very confortable and the set-up of the guitar was not too bad. PUs were not as bad as I was expecting. I read a lot of bad things about those PUs on other forums. Anyway, even if I'm no PU expert, I think I could live for a while with those Dimarzio/IBZ. The 5 way switch offers some interesting possibilities.
What impressed me the most was the Edge Zero! Very smooth. You can dropped the E to D without going out of tune on the other strings!
Again, I'm no Floyd expert but it felt pretty good/smooth and you can pull it to impressive raised notes!
Overall a quite nice guitar!
