The first, last, and only experience I had with him was during the ECMM days. I saw an ad in he had in Vintage Guitar magazine and called him about a Charvel. He ended up talking to me for a long time and took the time to a fax me a copy of the Charvel/Jackson serial number chart he had.

I bought a Dean V from him at his location in Vegas several years ago and he was quite pushy trying to ply his weird offbrand stuff. I listened politely then when he was done, pointed to the guitar I wanted, paid for it and left

I walked past his display at Namm last year (08') and everyone ignored
him! For 5 minutes, i stood about 20 feet away, and waited to see if
anyone would approach him and his daughter... About 200 people walked
by, and not one looked in his direction! That alone told me what everyone thought about him. I have to admit, though that i like that
stupid Batman wing axe dammit! LOL

[QUOTE=Joe Stump;1247882]No disrespect but I must disagree, in fact there is a link on the Internet to his CT days. This is just one horror story...
this is my story from the above link
From "M":
I bought what was suppose to be a Strat ash body with a real quilted maple bent top in a lovely orange/amber color ( ala Anderson type )
What I got was what I suspect was a body he pulled off a cheap Samick with photoflame top in the ugliest puke yellow color ( he must have doctored the picture using Photoshop.. the color was not even remotely close to the picture ) he also neglected to tell me it had a swimming pool pickup route...which he cleverly hid by putting a white pickguard on it in the picture.
I'm almost ashamed to tell you guys what i paid for this POS

I've talked to him many times over the years but I never bought anything off of him. He has been trying to get me to part with my Jackson LTD since '96 but never comes close to a fair offer (okay, once...he offered an original Jimmy Page Les Paul which was worth about the same at that time but I passed as I had no interest...plus I was a Gibson dealer and could get one at cost). He actually got mad and started barking a few times when I told him to get real in regard to his offers.
I've also tried to deal with him on two different Rands that he's had but he typically wants too much. The one time we came to terms, he backed out of the deal at the last minute. I also called him out on the fact that he claims to own one of Vivian Campbell's old Rands yet has never shown a picture (unlike he does with all of his other "star" guitars). When I asked him to describe it, he wouldn't do it. Fact is, I own one of Viv's and the other has been MIA, rumoured to be in the HRC's possession...Ed doesn't have one, just an old production model that he keeps to use as a template for his "Caligula" rip-off.
Bottom line, if he has something you want, you're up for negotiations, you get a fair price, and you are confident that you know what you're getting, I would do business with him even though I think he's a tool.
