I'm really digging the look of a Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 lately, but I'm more than a little concerned about the way the necks are mounted to the body. When the neck and body meet at the top fret, is this really enough "overlap" to be stable over time? What holds these things together? Magic? Force of will?
With a neck-through design I'd have no worries, but set-necks seem like they ought to be more prone to problems with so little material holding them to the body. Am I concerned over nothing, or is there some validity to this way of thinking?
