Old school ESP fans, I need some insight.

I sold a solid black 1991 ESP Custom Shop Mirage/MII hybrid bolt-on with ESP Floyd for $870 a few months back. To have that thing custom built would cost a fortune, but the used market appears to be limited.

If that linked guitar were *exactly* what somebody wanted to order it might bring that kind of $. Other than that, as others have said he might get $500 to $800.

It really isn't worth $1500. Maybe a USA custom shop or a Lynch model but it is neither. I wouldn't pay 500 for it.

no they werent, i bought my M1 custom (neckthru) the one with the large bevel on the treble side bout for $440, my pheonix was just under $500.

I disagree. New ESP neck thrus at that time (late 1980s) were priced in the the $1500 - $2K range.

Maybe retail but not street price. You could buy brand new top of the line ESP neck thru's all day long for under a grand back in the late 80's. I used to frequent 48th St. Guitars in those days and remember them being significantly less $$$ than comparable Jacksons, most of which "streeted" for around $1200-$1800 at that time.

They were higher priced in Florida at that time too then. I was in school in Miami at the time(1985-1991) and ESP's were quite expensive. I think one thing that hurts this particular M-1 we're talking about is that the pattern isn't quite nice like you see on the Lynch M-1. If it were, you'd see a higher price for a balck/white M-1 like that but still not $1500.

NOPE those were NEW bought at focus II in bellmore long island, in 86 i think. the ESPs were cheap, very cheap, they were still almost unknown back then. about a year or 2 later the prices of ESP's went up significantly.

How do ESP necks compare to jackson necks? Ive only played an eclipse, and i just can't shred on a les paul, i just cant!

A Jackson neck is thin, C shaped. My two older ESP's have more of a U shape I guess.

I don't know jack about current ESP neck profiles.
