I just told him, he's going to call them.

That's pretty honorable that you did the right thing. Most people (despite what some people say here) would have just kept it.

Smart move! Posession of stolen property is a crime in most states.

I'm wondering how he didn't see his guitar at the place he works. Is his name Jeff Healey?

                        No.
I think he might be talking out his ass, well I'll talk to him later about it I guess.

Crazy story. I agree, I wouldn't buy it if I knew it was stolen, even if it had belonged to an "enemy." That said, it is pretty bizarre that he worked at that pawn shop and didn't know it was there. Something reeks, could he have been trying to set you up to receive "stolen" property?

That in my opinion would be the right thing to do
My thoughts exactly. Even if you hate the guy its the right thing to do. Maybe selling it back to him for what you paid will help clear up whatever issues you guys have.
I would get as far away from the guitar as possible. You have it and it was stolen. even if you didn't steal it keeping it now knowing it is stolen is just as bad as if you stole it. If your seen with it everyone will think you stole it no one likes a thief.

Thats good advice and words to live by. When i was about 15 or 16 there was a guitar I wanted REAL BAD and i had zero money. I had heard Nikki Sixx tell the story how he went into a music store with an empty guitar case, threw a guitar in when no one was looking and walk out.
Well I did just that and you know what? It fucking worked perfectly.I thought I was the cats ass then. Now I am ashamed of that move and is one of the few things I would redo in life if I could. Like i said, nothing worse in this world than a thief. When it happens to you it's a whole different story.
