So, I thought Carvin's were cheap? I went on there site and spec'd out a couple that rang up around 1700 - 1900.
Depends how crazy you go. After a couple of adjustments, the one I want is 933.00. Multipiece necks and crazy tops and finishes can boost your price massively. I'm not doing that. I'm ordering one instead of an import Schecter, that's why I'm going so cheap.

Edit: My parents are even okay with this and they hate it when I buy new guitars. It's crazy because they're both paranoid about using the internet for shopping in any way.

Carvin won't do a 7-per-side headstock. They'll give you a reverse headstock if you want (3+4 instead of 4+3).

Thanks. I bought it from their website's In-Stock section back in '02. I also had a DC400 and DC120 12-string, but have only kept the SC90. Though, it now has the two coil-tap switches replaced with an extra volume and tone, and the toggle switch is a DiMarzio "Petrucci" switch to get the inner coils on when in the middle position.

I kinda figured. On the options for ordering over the internet there's no options for headstocks. A person would have to call for that one I'm guessing.

Yep, gotta call for options not listed. There was a thread on the Carvin forum at one time about all the different options that weren't in the online or paper catalogs.

Is this the thread? He talks about Option 50 and all the things you can do but also the risks.

That's one of the threads. There used to be a pretty long one that a bunch of people commented on, but that probably didn't get carried over when they upgraded from the older forum.

I'll see if I like the pickups. I can always change them out for Duncans or something.

I'm now thinking of perhaps having a transparent finish. No maple top or anything but I'm just not sure about a solid colour. It just looks so plain. I'm thinking either Crimson Red, Translucent Purple or Emerald Green for a finish. I would get chrome hardware instead of black if I get a transparent finish.

I've a Carvin coming soon. The finish date is June 19. It's a Bolt Plus. The finish is trans teal over swamp ash. It should look pretty cool. Can't wait.

My Carvin Bolt+C is a monster, and I will buy the exact same features when I need another guitar. It took 7 weeks and cost about $950.

Nice! Is that swamp ash? I will be getting that if I get a transparent finish on mine.

trans finishes over ash are cool. Jackson have used it before, most notably on Fusions & Stealths
