Hey guys, this is the second version of my signature line with Nocturne Guitars UK..

The first one was a 27 fretter.. this ones same but different..
still Alder body, 3pc Maple neck and Birdseye board and a Floyd..but this ones got 6000 fretwire as opposed to the 6100s..24 frets instead of 27.. a sustainor unit in the neck position..Tone Zone bridge and LED fret markers.. thought I'd share this with my JCF bro's.

Edit: your 27 fret model looks so much like a Hamer Californian that it can't be coincidence, did you play Hamers before hooking up with Nocturne?

It IS based on the Californian.. I was a Hamer endorsee during the 90s through the early 2000s. Good eye!

I spoke to Vernon Reid eight years ago on a Music fair and he said that he was frustrated that nobody could seem to build him guitars that surpassed his aging Hamer Californian and Chapparal models. And when I saw Living Colour play a few weeks ago he was STILL playing them.

I agree.. I was in the same predicament.. Vernon and I have had that same talk before.. Hamer decided to grow up/grow old.. I chose to NOT grow up and fortunately for me, someone else refuses to grow up and still has an interest in building me this stuff.. completely hand made, one-at-a time and without any restraints on options.

Very nice. LOVE the birdseye fingerboard. The control placement seems a little odd to me, but it really only matters if it works for you on a sig model right?

The control placement is kinda both a personal thing and an ease of construction thing.. this way EVERYTHING fits into only ONE control cavity route. Less wood removed from the body.

Prices for the NC's range start at £1350 cased plus shipping. Obviously things like boutique pickups, Sustainers, figured tops, LED's etc etc all add to the price.

As you see, i didn't really have any choice as the toggles for the sustainer are hard wired to the board so it was a hell of a fight to fit everything in there - oh, and bear in mind in this picture only the LED switch is connected, there's about another 2 foot of wire that i had to cram in there just to connect everything up !
