Seymour Duncan question

I'm looking to pick up a pair of SSD SH-6's, is there somewhere I can get metal tops for these? I want them to look like Gibson pickups. I don't know if I can order them from SD like that or not (i know nothing about how their custom stuff works)

any ideas would be appreciated

So then do all duncan covers retrofit? My friend bought an Epi G-400 with the crome covered pickups, and Swapped the bridge for a Gibson uncovered one, and the chrome top did NOT fit.

You're probably best off getting covers from Duncan to fit Duncan pickups. All pickups are not created equal.

I ordered a chrome covered custom and jazz from SD for my RR1. It took about a week for my dealer to get them in direct from Duncan. They work fast!

I think you can buy just the covers but I'm more comfortable just swapping the pickups than trying to solder covers on, plus when I got the non-covered custom I didn't know my RR1t was f-spaced.

I have seen that before, but what does f spaced mean? Someone told me awhile ago it has something to do with a tremolo maybe, but he was unsure.

"F"ender or "F"loyd spaced, depending on who you talk to. Basically, the pole spacing is wider to line up better with the wider bridge spacing on traditional tremolo equipped guitars. Seymour Duncan calls it "Trembucker" spacing.
