  • If it can't be Jackson/Charvel

Before I retire for the night I thought I would add this. If you couldn't have a Jackson or Charvel what makes do you dig next.

For me I would take in order:

    1. ESP (KH-2 or Eclipse II)
    2. Kramer Nightswan (lightning graphics) - Played one many times..should have bought it back in the day.
    3. Washburn WI590 (or N4..for a super bargin price)

Not greedy and not a long list.

These day's I'd have to stick with strat styles - so I'd go for my Ibanez RG770DX. Short of that, another Ibanex RG or a Floyded Fender Strat or I really liked the Ibanez Satriani model I played recently.

Ibanez, followed closely by my Gibby V. Some of the Washburn models feel very Jacksonesque to me. I had an X-50 I liked a lot. Still kicking myself in the ass for letting it go.

More direct, the short list (yes, i'm mostly low rent):

Ibanez, Gibson, Washburn, Epiphone, in that order.
In an insane world, only the sane seem crazy.

I am a brand whore, always something different on the side.
I miss my gunslinger but the neck was toothin at the nut, my washburn x50 was a great player but no fret markers, the ibanezes that I have had are great players (but have tone dead), I have loved the few esp ltds that I have had, but I think I would either have to go with my Carvin or my Schecter American Series(mij and only available in Japan).

If I am getting a guitar, and it can't be a USA Jackson... then I'll probably commission a custom guitar from one of the smaller, independent custom shops.

If production line only... then ESP / Schecter / Dean have quite a few that I like.

I often pick things BEFORE Jackson/Charvel...
                          Gibson
                          Fender
                          Kramer
                          LTD
                          *not in that order*

I have a really nice white Charvel Model 1 but I just changed the saddles to graph tech so it sounds really bright. I think I'll take the Genesis Mr Brownie pickup out of it and put in the SD Distortion to try to balance that brightness out.
My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.

Yeah...too bad the forum doesn't have a minimum IQ.
