  • Gibson Q100

These originally came in Black,White, and Panther Pink. This one was originally white but some one had made it into a Rhoads-esque polka dot. I stripped it down due to the really poor rattle can job.
It looks to be neck through when I stripped it but also had some body filler in it from somewhere along the line. It came with the original Dirty Finger pickup, single volume and Kahler Flyer trem. This is more of a mockup for the paint scheme I'm thinking about.. If I decide I like it I'll do a more permanent job.
The DF pickup I stashed away since it seemed way too bright in this chunk of wood and replaced it with an old Ibanez V2 that seems to do a better job.

Never like the dirty fingers pick up in any Gibson I ever had.
Thats pretty cool really only have seen a few of those.
IIRC those were Wayne Charvel's designs.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Yeah. From what history I can pry out of Gibson on these it was Wayne's idea.
Pretty cool guitar overall but just wasn't a true enough Gibson for the masses.

At that time Gibson sales were down across the board and they tried anything.
The 80's it was Jackson/Charvel and Fender so Gibson was trying to jump on the wagon and made some oddball guitars.
        Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Kramer had massive sales then too. Everyone was trying to keep up. It was a great era for guitars.

Yep, Gibson couldn't design a guitar to save their ass back then, but some unknown guitar player by the name of Slash sure did

Neat guitar. The headstock looks like a pointy that needs to lose weight. I like the single humbucker configuration. What scale is it?

24 3/4" and I agree it needs to go on a serious diet.
