  • Ibanez Proline PL2550

Does anyone have any experience with these? From what I've read, basically seems to be a soloist with different neck shape and electronics. Only made in 85-86. Apparently Jackson sued them because it was a soloist copy and they had to stop making them. What do you think??

Nice guitars, I believe a couple of JCFers own them. They feel rather different to a Soloist, the neck is nowhere near as wide and flat and they don't feel quite as solid.
It was probably a lack of sales rather than a lawsuit that caused Ibanez to cease production.
Remember, this was just before the whole Ibanez "re-invention" with the advent of the RG series and the big-money artist endorsed models.

Yeah they weren't selling well so they stopped making them. They were cool guitars though. I've play 2 and they played well but a Jackson Soloist killed it in terms of playability.
      It's pronounced soops
