  • Upper fret access on a Random Star

I'm thinking of picking up an ESP Random Star and was wondering if the upper horn gets in the way of upper fret access. The body is a classic star shape and looks just like the Charvel. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's like a Charvel Star, I'll say no. I've never had a problem with it. I don't have my thumb wrapped around the neck that close to the body-join.
    Same with an Explorer shape.

Doesent seem to bother Gus G at all...

But it's more to do with how much you can stretch and what is the limit of your comfort...

Can you test out one of those Roope LTD's to see how it might be similar...

None of the Stars I've had were hard to reach. No more than a regular Strat or Charvel, anyway. Same heel. But if you do the Vai thing with your hand and fingers fully extended like you're getting a manicure, then you might have trouble.
