That looks a lot like the pointy start I ordered in '98. There are pictures of me playing it in one of the Jackson catalogs ('01 or '02 I think).

First I would say that I like the design, but I totally agree with Tekky in that it has been done. Your bevels are different but other than that new ground has not been broken.

            But is it "balanced"?

It might not be original, but it sure is pretty. Hell, put a TOM on that, and I'd buy one.

I liked it back then and I like it now.
I liked it when Hamer made it too.

WOnder if Jackson will do a pointy star nowadays?

When did Hamer make a pointy star?

'01 catalog. You're one up from the bottom left corner.

Late 80's I think. I think Andy Larocque had one in King Diamond's "Welcome Home" video. (Up until recently, I always thought it was a Kelly)

Andy played a Rhoads in that video. I know he played a Soloist in one other video, but not sure if the Rhoads is a Jackson, Kramer or something else. Pete Blakk did play a Hamer pointy Explorer in that... I think it was the Brad Gillis model.

I never said it was this great ground breaking design, its more of a slight modification that balances out the design a bit better. I'm just getting the idea out there & to share my newly created pictures with the JC forum in hopes that some one out there may get inspired to get one built as a Custom Shop.

PS: Last time I checked I made it clear that my views were only my opinion.
