I think it's the Fernandes copy. And as far as goofing up Larocque and Blakk... I blame early onset senility.

PS: Last time I checked I made it clear that my views were only my opinion.
Last time I checked the title said, "[NEW MODEL IDEA] Jackson Dark Star (Tons of concept art in here)". Not sure about you, but that gives me the impression that you had a new model idea.

Excuse me if I'm taking that too literally.

Maybe I ought to change the title to "modified star idea" so the fan boys don't get too touchy.

          Welcome to JCF!

BTW, I like your idea. It's got a smaller "waist" than mine does and looks a little more aggressive. It's somewhere between mine and an Ironbird.

            Thanks!

Kind of hard to see what it looks like with all the fingerprints on it

It may not be 110% "original" but I have a feeling that if Jackson were to go ahead and put my modified design into production they would sell like chocolate covered hot cakes.

(I know its unlikely that Jackson would go ahead and patient my
modified design for production, I'm just putting that out there is all).

The second I get another 3 or 4 grand I will be getting my Jackson Dark Star Design Custom built by a certain European Custom Shop (which I will not name). I'll post many pics of it once its built. It might be another year or two before I have that kind of ca$h to blow again seeing that I just spent $3000 on a Custom Shop Washburn USA Dime 3ST Replica (so don't hold your breath for it)...

This is the one I'd be getting built (below).

                Specs would include:

                Set-thru construction
                Scale Length: 25.50 inches
                Ebony (or dark Rosewood) fretboard
                ESP Thin-U neck
                Pearl Block inlays
                Pearl side dots
fretboard binding: single layer black plastic
                EMG 81/85 (or Duncan BLACKOUTS)
                only 2 metallic volume nobs
Flame Maple top (Body & Head Stock)
Body Edge Sculpting: Stealth bevels, front and back (only on body)
Black Original Schaller Floyd Rose (with string retainer)
                Black Schaller machine heads
Single 9V Battery box with lid
Jack-plate: Boat in black (on the back side of the bottom left fin)
                22 Stainless Steel Jumbo frets
                Straplocks (2 pieces) Black Dunlop
Back Floyd cover: black plastic (flush in body)
                Control Cavity cover: black plastic
                Truss rod cover: triangular plastic
                Mahogany body
Standard 3-piece neck Mahogany + Maple
Toggle switch: DiMarzio (switchcraft) 3-pos. (gibson-style)

If I choose an Ebony fretboard there will be no black binding but if I choose a Rosewood fretboard then there sure will be...

their previous Star variants haven't sold well, but you may be right, considering all the pointy Deans & Xiphoses I see in the shops these days.

If you're getting the money together to have your "Jackson Dark Star" custom built, why not have Jackson build it for you?

So you'll go to Ran or another company to have a custom "Jackson" made? Jackson will do custom body shapes, you know?

The comment about Oz's pointy explorers made me think of the Hamer variant.

                      Only tangentially related I guess.

                        No.
You will have another companies Dark Star or Pointy Star, or Dime Star, or whatever you choose to call it, made by a certain European Custom Shop TM.

No fault in that, but, it's not a Jackson.

Not to knock Jackson but why would I pay $6000 for something I can get built for 3 or 4 Grand by another CS that can and will built it with the same Quality.

Once again, don't get me wrong, Jackson builds great Custom Shop geets but in reality it really just comes down to ca$h, I can personally live with out the Jackson logo.

Just being brutally honest, I'm not trying to knock Jackson in any way here.

I think that if you "balance" a Jackson shape they should send you a free hoodie.
