Be warned Axewielder, it's easy to get Ibanez GAS. I bought a Paul Gilbert signature a couple years back thinking that was the only one I'd get. Well I think I'm up to 7 Ibby's now. Great tone, killer necks, and the ONLY whammy that I'll play other than a Floyd.
I don't think you can go wrong with the 550 or 770 reissues, great axe for the money.
550's both new and original are some of the best hot-rodded players I've had. These are stripped down JEMS - they didn't exist until the JEM came out and Ibanez wanted to offer a lower-priced model. You can beat the hell out of 'em - they are rock solid guitars. Here's my '89 along with a custom Universe 7....
