  • Wondering about an 'Eastwood' Bass .....

Eastwood, "by Oscar Schmidt - since 1886"
and .... it's made in Korea. (Yeah)
I got this on craigslist 2 years ago --
    I found Eastwood's website -
but it's all retro reproductions --
I couldn't find anything about this model --
on their site or anywhere else ....

Google found a cover band's site that had pix
with one of the guitar players with a similar guitar....

It's extremely well made - kinda heavy -
sounds great, etc -- the neck is a little wide,
    but not too deep .....
I'm curious about any info, and what it might be worth .......
I would keep it, cause it plays fine, it's just too heavy,
and I prefer a smaller, jazz bass like neck, with a smaller radius, too.. and of course, rolled edges........
    Thanks!

My guess being heavy its a plywood body. Not conveying plywood guitars are bad I have a few and they play and sound damn good.
Thats probably a mid 2000's or newer.Looks great.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I think all their stuff now is made in china and I think oscar schmidt is owned by washburn now.
I would guess if it's made in korea it was probably made by samick or cort for eastwood.
Probably wouldn't get much on ebay since it's an unknown brand.
