  • x75 compared to Model series.

It's been almost 2 decades since I played a 375/475 etc. How is the construction on those compared to the Model, as I don't remember how it played. All I know is when I pick up my basswood bodied Model 3, it feels solidly constructed, and my DXMG/DK2/DK2M all feel like toys compared to it. Was the wood and construction on the 375/475 still the same as the Model, it did it start to veer into that new growth wood feel that all current guitars seems to have?

My predator feels solid. To me until the mid 90's Jacksons they still had that solid feel.

Isn't a model body full sized compared to a dinky?

Yup, in the case of M3 vs DK2: Strat vs. Dinky.

so you guys are saying that the dinky body is the reason they feel like toys?

375-475 are more of a dinky body! they are, or can be very nice guitars! i put an old j-90 in my 375 and it sounded like the older sers but with more stable hardware. but that my opion, not everyones.
I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

My USA Fusion did not feel like a toy - but I've picked up x75's that felt underwhelming.

Although the x75s have better hardware (trem, locking nut), dinky body and recessed trem route, I've found that the model series are more consistent in their build quality. Don't get me wrong, I've played some really nice x75s but I've also felt like Grandturk on occasion. Underwhelmed.

They were all built in the same factory within a few years of eachother so I'd doubt any huge differences.
