  • Model A

Does anyone know where I can find one? I have been trying for months. I used to see them on ebay every once in awhile but not anymore.

you have to just keep looking. I was stupid and sold mine. GC online has a blue model A+, not the same pickups but a birdeye neck.

I've been keeping my eye out. Every now and then one pops up...usually go for the $350-500 range depending on the type of the model A. If anybody finds something let us know!

Yeah I seen that one too. There were no bids on it with 10 hours left. If someone sniped it is unknown to me.

I found one at a local guitar shop about an hour away. $425 is what they want for it. I guess I'll stop by and check it out. They told me it has been sitting there more than a year....amazing. I'm guessing these guitars didn't sell well back in the early 2000s?

If they would have produced them now days I'm sure they would've been a huge hit for charvel now that shred is once again popular. Great guitar, wrong timing.

So many people had problems with Charvels having 24 frets, dinky bodies and the sears headstock. I personally think they should have gone with something other then the livewire pickups. You gotta remember too that these were at the same price point as the new promods.

I'm the opposite. I love the dinky body with 24 frets and sears headstock. Those were great guitars.

Interesting. A lot of people hated the livewires because you couldn't get a clean sound from them. They are metal livewires, afterall. I would just replace the neck pu with something else. They made some with passive duncans H-S-S style. I've seen a couple roaming around.

Yeah a lot of online music stores were selling them new for $430...even the + models. Very fine guitars, but I would want the H-S-S configuration on the + models and not the livewires. It was an interesting attempt however. The ads at the time tries to use the livewires as a good marketing tool, but I suppose it didn't fly too well. Good pickups....just not my taste, and I already have plenty of emg equipped guitars the way it is.
