  • Replacing with an OFR

I have an 89 Model 475 Deluxe and was thinking about replacing the stock bridge with an OFR. Can this be done without carving up the guitar it has a really beautiful finish and I hate to go routing it out. I don't use the whammy very hard but have read where I will get better sustain with the OFR
    Thanks for any info.

If it's a non-recessed trem (but IIRC the 475 is recessed) then it can be replaced with a Floyd easily.

The Schaller Floyd will fit the stock recess, though.

An OFR will not fit in the recess route on the 475.
The stock bridge is a JT-590 which is a Schaller trem.
Replacing it with another Schaller is kinda pointless unless the current one is worn out.
As for better sustain, replace the block on the trem with a brass big block.

The blocks for an OFR will fit on the JT-590.
