  • ID Help... (Looks like you guys get a lot of these)

Just picked up my first Charvel guitar - one of the japanese imports. My dad had one and always loved it and this thing just felt "right" when I started to play it. I am utterly elated with this guitar... I just wish I knew what it *WAS*

Done some Googling (not sure whether it's been helpful or harmful ) The guitar is almost exactly like a Charvel Fusion Custom (HSS Config, tapered cutaway, 24 fret neck, volume knob and single tone knob, Schaller Floyd-Rose style tremolo) but the thing that gets me is that the headstock isn't coloured as the body is. It's just black with the toothpaste charvel logo and the curved bottom edge, but the body is metallic blue, and as I understand, on the Fusion Custom the headstock would be coloured the same as the body.

Neck Plate has SN 335947 and the Charvel "guitar" logo.

I noticed the tuners on the headstock had the Jackson logo on them too. Dunno if it means anything or not. It came with a Jackson hard case too

    Any ideas?

If any pics would be useful I'll put some up but I think I've described it pretty accurately.

    Thanks for any help!
    Nick

Pics never hurt... even if they're unnecessary, who doesn't wanna see another Charvel?

Is the guitar a short-scale (24 3/4") or regular 25 1/2"? I'm guessing it has dot inlays... have you looked through the catalogs at audiozone.dk?

Looks like it IS a short-scale and I can confirm dot inlays . I checked audiozone.dk and that's how I came up with the Fusion Custom, but didn't find anything exact. Anyways, here's a pic:

Everything but the headstock color is right for a Fusion Custom, so maybe the original neck was damaged at some point and they found a replacement for it. It looks great with or without a matching headstock.
