Active Electronics

How do the active electronics on the mij Charvels work? Do they take batteries... probably a dumb question but I've never had a guitar with active electronics or pickups.

You guys seem to know all, so thanks in advance!!

Active = Batteries, so yes, they take batteries.

Not rocket science, it's just like taking a boost pedal apart and stuffing it in the guitar cavity.
