well, this would involve a 200 mile round trip drive, not a huge deal - i got time, to go see it. provided it passes inspection would this be a good collector buy? for $375...break it down for me if you have a few mins...

I'd do it. There was a red model 6 charvel on sale this summer for about that much and i let it pass by. I didn't know if they were any good at the time. I've been kicking myself ever since.

ok good to know! he's asking $450 lol. but he doesnt seem confident in his price so...i may start at $350 - he can always say no thank you.

Collector buy? Not really. The Charvel Model series guitars were essentially today's Pro Series guitars. Made in Japan, mass-produced, etc. Compare it to an SL3.

From all accounts they are great guitars though. Well-built, good components, etc. And even $450 is a good price for it. $375 would be a steal.

yea, they are selling for well over 600.and are just as good as some usa soloist. IMO

I wouldn't say they are just as good as a USA Soloist, but they beat the hell out of any of Jackson's current Japanese guitars, IMHO. $375 would be a *great* price for that guitar, since prices have risen on Model 6's in the last couple of years. A decade ago, you could get them all the time for under $300, but people finally caught on to them.

It's either an '87 or an '88, since those were the only two years they used a Floyd.

well again awesome info. i would just say that perhaps todays "steal" is tomorrows collector? i think thats what i was asking. seems like the popular opinion indicates its a good buy on a quality instrument - i dont see it depreciating if well cared for and probably something i should try hard not to pass on...so time to make an appointment...

I laughed out loud. Thanks Ron.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, NEVER post a guitar ad on this forum if you're interested in it yourself. JCFuggers will snipe or back door that shite right out from under you.
