Honestly, I cant tell you. Never seen a model 4 with a pickguard.

    Or a Kahler
    I like EL34s.

If it was an 86 model 4 it would have flat mount Kahler and definitely not a pick guard. That is a model 2.

        so...worth?

        I know...."$400"
        LOL
Is this worth refininshing? Or leaving as is?
In completed auctions, its looking more like a Model 3, with missing fine tuners...

Um....no. A Model 2 only has one pickup and one volume knob.

Here's mine as I bought it used:

may not be anything helpful, but that split around the e string looks familar, and a dinky with a reverse headstock that broke like that falling out of a guitar stand and hitting CARPET, and THICK ASS BERBER carpet at that, super glued it back on cause the music store i got it from wanted more than i paid for it almost to replace the neck, never had a problem with it

                Thanks for your input.

The paint isn't glossy smooth but kind of textured....normal?

Dunno, but the Kahler Fulcrum bridge that I fitted to a Strat copy in about 1985 has got the same problme wit the fine tuners twisting

One thing to keep in mind though, that color is after-market. In 86 there were only 3 colors: Pearl White, Black, and Red.

86 Model 3s only came in 3 colors. Black, Pearl White, & Red.

You may be able to spread the crack in the headstock
enough to inject some Tight Bond in it without breaking it off.

You can get a new string lock here.

I replaced the Kahler 2500 on my Model 3 with a Kahler 2710.
Direct replacement. No mods needed. Way better locking trem.

                          Thanks again
Can I fix the chipped end piece on the headstock....or due to the low E string break, a neck replacement better?

If you glue it with Tight Bond and clamp overnight, it will hold.

You can touch up the tip with black fingernail polish,
then fill with clear Polly, block sand, and polish.
                            Cheaper than buying another neck.

                              Thanks Tricky!

Do you know what pickups are in this? Don't sound bad the three seconds I had it plugged in.
Will refinish when it sows down at work, but can play until then.
As much as I like the color....if they only came in three colors....
