I bought mine used, and it came with a black Chainsaw.
I looked at a few before I bought the one I have, and they all had Chainsaw cases. Some gray, some black.
I imagine the dealers sold them with whatever case they had in stock that fit it.
In your case Jazz, they may have been pushing the tweed, or offered it as an extra selling point.

The prudes may snub them, but I don't care.
I dont need furniture.
If its tough, shreds, and screams, Its all good.
If it gets jacked, I'll get another one.
And rock that sucker.
Yup I just did some digging and it sure seems the correct original case is the plastic chainsaw case... I don't know why mine came with a tweed case, maybe the guy who bought it originally bought a tweed case with it (I bought it "slightly used" in '89 or so.)
The tweed case is all that's left of it now and there's not much left of the case, either.
That is good to know on the predator, been watching ebay. Looking for the original gray chainsaw she came in, did the predators come with the gray or black cases chain saw style?
I kn9ow back in 88 when these were new, they came from the factory with the gray chainsaw case. I bought mine new from the music store I worked at, at that time. So hopefully I can track one down with the help from the community here. It is sad that some douche` had to steal the case, Why????? do people steal,,,,,, ugghhhh Hopefully some one can help...
Is the chainsaw case used for jacksons any different than the charvel ones because mine could hold a DXMG if that helps XD unless I'm retarded and I don't know the difference between my case and a chainsaw case...
Hope I helped. ^_^
