Technically speaking, what would be the difference of them still putting a San Dimas neck plate on these guitars and putting a Fort Worth, TX plate on the model series that was also "made in Japan". I know that there'd be alot of pissed off people, myself included, but what's stopping them from doing it? It's no different is it?
Geez guys. It's like you've all been watching way too much "E" Channel or something. What drama!Let's start calling this the Snooki Kardashian Hilton forum...
I can't believe the level of discontented nit-picky whining going on. Enjoy what they do for Godssakes, or vote with you dollars and don't buy them.Last edited by chrisolson; 08-10-2010, 06:45 PM.

I didn't think of it either until I was sitting here talking to my wife about the whole ordeal and it just popped in my head. It's definately something to think about....

Damn it beachjammer. I didn't even think about the plate address and serial number issue. Now I'm bummed because you're right, there is nothing stopping them from using it. I should just pull and sell my SD plates now because if they do use the same address with the same serial scheme, we're going to see a lot of these on the auction sites.

There's something about Charvels that screams USA... As these are continuing in the hot-rodded strathead area ("Traditional Charvel"), they should be 100% USA. I don't care if there is a price increase.
The models are a different story.

Im sure these will be great players and others will like them. I just won't be spending my $ on these unless I see something diffrent in a wild card.

My only real disappointment is they all have floyds. I have no problem with them being made in Japan. If you do not want one there are still about 10,000 USA ones on Ebay. One of my best players and best sounding guitars is my 2002 era made in Japan Charvel Traditional. If these new ones are any where as good I may have to get one even if it has a Floyd. Just my opinion. Not trying to piss anybody off.

Last I checked, I don't remember Fender or Gibson listening to "the people" and trying to come up with something they might like. Charvel is pretty unique that way.
Stuff like this is part of why I don't post all that much these days.

So far the new series looks good to me. Wait a few months for some deals on the street price and you should get a solid guitar. Still gotta say that it sucks that we can't get a $799 US made series like the American Special Fenders.
