The difference in this case is that the headstock actually says "Made in Japan" where the Model series had no such designation. Sure people could swap parts around, but what's the point? It's too early to tell, but hell maybe the Jap necks end up being more desirable than the USA's were.

I'm very happy about these! I'd love a so-cal series but they're 1,000 euros here in Europe. So I'm really hoping these will be around the 750 euros mark (which is only 100 more than a Mexi Strat). Then again, it'll likely be 800 or even 900. We'll see.

I'm definitely happy about these being made in Japan too. Good pickup choice too though I'm not a lead enough playe for the JB. Still though... Between these or an (admittedly very different) mid-range RG, there's just no question.

Except that RGs are available everywhere in Europe and Charvels just about nowhere.

This is what I've been waiting for a very long time though. Can't wait!

I know what you mean, but when you look at the guitar you're looking at the front, when I go to play my DXMG I don't go, "Hey look! I Feel like grabbing my guitar, I'm not going to play it though, I'm just going to sit here and examine the neck plate, oh wow! My serial number has 9 in it, I never knew that..."

Oh and welcome to the board Racer X 2.

Mazz, It's never like this And European sellers don't give a sh*t, whether the costs of transport from Japan are equal to both USA and Europe or not

I'd say they will cost about 800$

I sure hope not! 950 for the SoCal, 890 for the ProMod? Not a big enough difference for the same guitar (to most customer's eyes). One line will get canibalised, no question.

Then again, those who get Charvels are usually a little more discerning I hope than your average RG350 customer... here's hoping.

                          I knew...and I got over it.
