Yes the Pontiac name, but around the World you can still buy the G8. Same with Charvel if they didn't go to Japan with one line of guitars would they still exist with your economy in a few year??? The USA is better argurement these days seems like snob value only. Its a global market and most manufactures realize this. Am I USA bashing??? No. My Fenders are all USA. All of my custom necks and bodies are made in NEW JERSEY by Musikraft.

Anyone else have a Pro Mod yet??? I have seen a few new USA Charvels here in Australia with paint issues. I can see that happening out of a Japanese factory. I like the USA verses Japan and the better timber argument. Has anyone asked or know where Charvel gets there timber from. Is a Maple tree grown in Japan , USA, England or Australia that different???. These guitars are CNC machined, so the USA guys sent the program over to Japan and the Japanese CNC machine would produce a product of lesser quaility than the USA machine.

In the interview Bionic did for Legendary Tones he mentioned doing hard tail & string through bridge options at some point. The question wasn't very specific, but I think he was talking about wildcard Pro-Mods when he answered.

+1 or a vintage trem which I would just lock down like a hardtail anyway.

I played one today at my local music store for over two hours. Compared side by side to several of the USA made models it quite frankly blew them away. The guitar is absolute perfection from top to bottom. The alder body is extremely resonant. The finish(snow white) is impeccable. The fret work is some of the best i've seen on an instrument of any price. There is not even the slightest hint of a gap around the neck pocket. The dealer had one of each color in stock and they were all equally on par as far as quality. The included case is extremely nice. Charvel has a real winner on their hand with these guitars. I'm picking mine up tomorrow.
