im looking at maybe buying this guitar but im not sure what it is... ( after i post this im going to check out cat scans ) also trying to find out how much it might be worth ( i payed $250 for my M4 )

Ok after a little resurch it looks to be an early M1A again i could be wrong also looks as maybe the pick up has been changed?

Looks like a mutt to me. Model 2 body with a kahler trem (Model 1's had a standard 6 screw trem) and the Model 2 never came with a Maple neck. The neck looks like it may have been from a Model 4M since there appears to be holes drilled for the behind the nut lock. Model 1s did not have this.

What is it worth? I'd guess about $100 because it looks like it needs some work.

so the verdict is in a mutt how hard is it to find a locking nut for it if it needs one? and i might to try to come up with some cash and see what he will take for it

get a kahler nut.. i got one from ebay. straight fit..

+10 DonP is absolutely right on. The Kahler 2710 is awesome. I replaced the stock POS with a 2710 (drop in mod) and it is sooooo much better.
