I agree with you. My first Charvel at the time was a Model 2 also. A mettalic Blue in mint condition. I have to say, it is one of the best guitars I own. I will never part with it. It plays unbelievably great. The only thing I did to it was put in an EMG 81 and it wails. 22 years old an it is still a rock solid player. Good choice for your first Charvel. It will not be your only one..haha. Have fun with it.

PS: Awesome red ....I like it!

Congrats! I've got one just like yours. I've replaced the pickups and the bridge with an EMG 85 and an OFR respectively. One of my favorite guitars, that one.

Thanks guys, I'm putting in a JB and installing an ofr myself sometime in the next few days when I have some time. I'll post a few more shots of her when I'm finished & I'll make sure to get a full nude shot in her entirety.

Damn, even the two I picked up NOS a few years back weren't as clean as that one. Nice.

Thanks guys & here are a few more shots complete with the OFR & JB.

However I have a big problem, it sounds like shit! I don't get it, I have JB's in most of my guitars & they always sound great. This pickup was in a different guitar at one time so I know It's not a bad pickup, It sounds WEAK!! It sounds as if the volume is rolled back half way & I hate guitars that don't scream. I could realy use some advice, a different pickup maybe? I don't own any other guitars made of basswood could that be it? If JB's just don't scream in these monsters what will?

                    Thanks guys

My only thoughts are that it may be wired incorrectly or the pot may need to be replaced. I've had JBs in Model series before and they weren't weak sounding IMO.

250k pot maybe ??? I had a JB and thought it was weak also, but those in the know said they have pretty good putput to them : ))((
I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

Great guitar. I prefer my Model 1 because of the maple fretboard, but to each their own!

Thanks guys I realy appreciate the replies but I've decided to get rid of the guitar. I'll put it up on the bay sometime over the next few days. I wish there was a site like ebay but for trading only, I'de like to get a different guitar rather than cash for it , hell I'd settle for just a pro mod neck anyway thanks guys and look for it on the bay if you're interested.
