Hiya,
I've got an original trans red Charvel Surf with tremolo 9and lipstick pickups), and have spent literally years trying to figure out what's going on with the tremolo arm, so I'm hoping someone her has some insight.
The arm used to push in and "click" in place, but could still swivel. There is a set screw on the side that adjusts the amount of swivel, but there must be something else that holds in the arm. Even with the set screw adjusted, it does work its way out of the bridge (which is a JT490) and eventually hits the ground after a bit of playing.
I've brought it to 3 or 4 shops here in the Bay Area, and no one can figure it out. If anyone out there has a Surfcaster, can you confirm that it pops into place? Any insight would be a huge help...I love my Surfcaster and am determined to figure out what's going on.
Thanks!
