  • Where's the factory...?

Hi folks! Does anyone know what company/factory makes the new Pro-Mods line in Japan ? And where they're located ? I'm surprised that no one asked that already... Cheers

I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned in some of the other threads. Someone will pop in here with the name, or you can look through the other recent threads about the new Pro Mods.

can't remember the name of it but they only make jackson, charvels, and the new evh wolfgang.
Same factory that has made them since 1986.

Chushin Musical Instruments Mfg, Inc., located in Nagano. We could use some pictures of this place.

Seems there was a pic around at one time.
Only two people I know that could likely dig it up...

          Racer X or Jackson1.

Hehe. I was thinking about this only a few hours ago... I can't find pictures on the net whatsoever of outside or inside of the factory. No pics or comments of the boss. No nothing. Maybe I am lousy at Google, but to not be able to find anything on a factory that has been licensed to produce the almighty metal axes from Charvel and Jackson guitars since 1985, I find incredible! Even mysterious. Where's QuantumRider when you need him? Maybe the Caparison forum has something... hmm..

There are pics and a tiny bit of video from inside the Chushin Gakki factory near the beginning of this vid:

There were good versions of the pics posted in a thread here at one time, and on the Charvel Facebook page iirc, but I didn't save them and can't find them now.

I forgot about that grunged-over Charvel video.

                  Oh yes, I remember that.
The one I'm thinking about was a street shot, building in the background.

It is on this site somewhere...
And good call on Quantum Rider, he ought to know!

Regardless, I am an unabashed fan of the bang for the buck out of the Japanese Jacksons.
Not to take any digs at USA's!

I'm just the kind of home player that leaves the pro's to the pro's
and not worry much about hanging my guitar wherever I feel like.

They are workhorses that play and sound great!

I remember the same shot, I think. Nothing fancy. In fact it looked like a miserable third world tin can garage crammed in between other buildings of the same look. Kinda like this no offense:

Many thanx guys. I'm not going to visit or buy it but I wanted to know if the knowledge and ability for making the new line would be as high as it was in the past and made them so much loved guitars... Special thanx to Henrik for so many informations ( I think we should build him a statue or give his name to a boulevard...!)

That's what it was! I was confusing that with the Charvel page. Some old pics that Grover took:

I meant apart from the recent Grover Jackson supplied pics, sorry.
Those Grover pictures on Facebook... I find it weird that a picture of the Ontario office is placed in the "Chushin Factory pcs" folder. The level of misinformation nowadays is appalling

Without having actually played one, my feeling is that they are worth every penny. They look very well made and there was a very positive, hands-on mini-review here on JCF recently. The Japanese factory has got the experience and the machinery covered, so it all comes down to inspection and attention to detail, like the fretwork and final adjustments. We need more actual reviews to really know, but I think it looks promising.

If you decide on a statue, please contact Schaller in Germany and have them provide some hardened quality steel for it. Don't call Ping or anyone in Korea.... which reminds me... the Floyds on the Pro-Mods are Korean, I think!
