Love the New Japan pro mod!

I have a few 4's, 5's and a 3.. I havent done a exact measurement, but the older models seemed a little wider and flatter.. The pro mods have the very familiar shape although they are a little rounder..I personally like the pro mods better, but still love my 88 model 4's feel as well. Sorry cant be any more help than that.

The reviews on the new Japan pro mods have kind of got me gassing again. Can anyone give me a neck profile comparison to an 87 or 88 model 4? I've got two of those and really like the necks on them. Are these a totally different profile? Wider, thicker? I've never played a strathead charvel so I guess I really don't know how they compare. All I've got is the old pointy's. Thanks for any replies guys!!

Thanks darkone!! I ordered one today. Should be here by the end of the week. I think I'll like it if it gets here in one piece. I always get nervous when I'm having a guitar sent, I guess I've heard too many horror stories, knock on wood no bad experiences so far though. I'll tell you what I think after I take it for a test drive. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the good news. I just purchased one sight-unseen from the bay. I didn't realize they were even making these new MIJ's but none the wiser I pulled the trigger anyway. I hope mine arrives as nice as the ones you've described!!!!

Mine arrived today and I gotta say, this thing is FREAKIN' AMAZING! No regrets here. I've never felt a neck quite as nice as this and I've got a few higher end Prestige Ibanez models...this thing blows them away! I'm so happy!

I went thru a few at Alto music in Middletown Ny this weekend and they were all spot on.. Trying to hold out till the next batch and see what might be coming. Otherwise Im gonna have to pull the trigger on the white so cal.. Glad you loved it!

Ok, I have a newbie question...

In the bag of case candy, there was some strap-lock parts and then a mystery part that was chrome and almost has the shape of an elongated locking nut but with 2 pins on the flat side and a chamfered hole. Anyone know what this is used for? The best guess I came up with is that it might be something to block the trem...?????? Please help....I'm guitarded.

I was wondering if the neck was a bit more yellow(ish) compared to the USA because the MIJ neck had some sort of finish on it. What is the MIJ neck like - the finish?

Also, does anyone know if a pointy-head will fit in the new Charvel MIJ SKB hardshell cases?
