Hi guys... OK I did my homework, researched every Charvel-related site I could find, but still can't identify exactly what this is I bought at a local pawn shop. It appears to be an early '90s ST, STX or ST custom, but some features do not match exactly. Maybe it was someone's project guitar?
It looks like a strat. The body is black w/pearlesent pickguard, H/S/S Jackson-branded pups (exposed pole pieces, not the covered pups), 1 volume and 1 tone, active toggle between the knobs, 5-way pup switch, rosewood fingerboard on maple(?) neck, locking nut, no truss route or truss cover on the neck, small Charvel script logo on headstock, Charvel-branded Schaller trem, "Charvel by Jackson/Charvel" neckplate with serial number 370608. No "made in..." anywhere on the neck or body but the serial number suggests made in Japan.
And by the way the trem cavity has only 5 screw holes for the cover plate, not 6. Here are some pics:
This is my first hands-on with a Charvel and I like the way it plays. Any help identifying the model/year/price will be appreciated.
