  • vintage charvel chart gone?

i believe the website was created by franx. use to refer to it whenever i would buy a charvel (gotten 5 so far ). thanks!

but lately the website has been down. is it b'cuz many people copy the info without giving franx credit? it's a great service to those who are interested in charvels. would luv to see it online again....

I think that may be why Franx pulled it. AlienXNation ripped him & Henrik off pretty bad. Here's a great page that Henrik did that should help you out:

The pics pop up when you mouse over the links, and clicking takes you to the catalog page for the guitar.

i hope when people use the info on these sites, they acknowledge the original source. it's just common sense.

i meant people like franx and henrik who spend the time to gather all the info, design the websites, and put in their energy, etc.

Wouldn't it be Kevin Easton, who created the original MoAIP on the Jackson website prior to the FMIC deal?

I wouldn't know. I never saw what is referred to as the MoAIP, even though it's been mentioned countless of times on this board. The original MoAIP? Is there a direct copy?

The lists being discussed here can be created from scratch and presented by anyone who is willing to spend years participating in and reading this forum, collecting data, analyzing catalogs and then make the effort to bring it to the people. I would qualify that as a source.

I asked moku because I didn't understand what he meant.

The original Mother of All Info Pages was created by Kevin Easton on the official Jackson website. He went through all of the catalogs that had been produced and provided the features of each guitar model. As far as a direct copy being available, I couldn't say.

Ive been searching for a chart on Import Charvel Guitars and all Ive come up with was this link

identify charvel model, charvel models, charvel serial numbers, charvel serial number lookup, charvel guitar models

is there somewhere that has the ones that were Japanese Models and japan artist models

The link I posted earlier in the thread is much better, and you can find all the available catalogs from there as well. The site you have there is full of content (including the formatting) stolen directly from Henrik & Franx and used to promote that asshole's overpriced eBay business. As far as a good listing of Japan-only models & artist guitars, there seems to be a big gap in what's available online. I'm not sure if they never printed as many Japan-market catalogs or if people just haven't scanned & uploaded them.
