  • I'm having trouble identifying the model

of this Charvel. It has active Seymour Duncan pickups, Floyd licensed bridge, and 1 tone and 1 volume control. 3 way pickup selector switch. It has a strat shape with a strat headstock and on the back it says Made in Japan. The number on the plate of the bolt-on neck is 01110207. Any information you can give me would be awesome. I'm looking to sell it actually but I don't even know what price to try to get for it.

    Those pickups aren't original.

We call that headstock the "ball sack" headstock Do a search

Actually I'm serious, You might find more info on what you have there.

Worth? Not much now that you can get real Strat headstock Charvels these days. If you could go 5-6 years back in time, it might have been worth twice what it is now.

Thats definitely a parts mutt. The body looks to be a DK2 or Contemporary Charvel body (not familiar with the *75 models enough to say for sure) and the neck looks to be CX series or pre-Fender Promod (cant remember which has that headstock).

I bought it from a friend of a friend who was in a pretty popular local cover band (southeast) who decided to retire from that lifestyle. I paid $300 and traded a Jackson flying v that was worth about $300 for it. I was just seeing if I could get around $550 for it or something like that. It has a good Gator case too. ...rough on the outside (with all of the latches) but still looks brand new inside.

Either way, it plays amazingly and the action is pretty low. The pickups scream ...and suck up 9 volts in just a couple of weeks. Definitely set up for that 80's style.

Charvel Model A Pro Series Electric Guitar. Made in Japan. Regular Discount Price $829.99-1,099.99

I found a link for a Model A Pro that pretty much matches up.

That site has it listed for $800-1200 and another I found had it listed for $495

In todays market $300.00 with OHSC is an average price if its real clean.
I see some rash on the back and a few other marks so more like $250.00 in this case.
The market is way down on everything so prices have dropped on 90's Jap import Charvels with the psuedo strat headstock.

the quilted top model A was $1,409 new. the 1200 was for the + and koa model. they blew them out for around 500 when the 2005 usa reissues came out.

I think I'll try to get $300-350 out of it with the case. I never play it so it would be better than nothing. Not sure if it would even be worth the trouble for anything less than that.

                        Preciate the help.
