Carvel Model 3A Project.

Hi,

It's a project that will be given to my son as his first guitar. But since i'm a player and not a builder, i could use the knowledge of people on that forum. Not that i will actually try to build it following your advices!! The luther will take care of that. I'm talking about parts, what will fit, what wont, where can i find this or that ... etc.

Body- Charvel Model 3A

Tremolo- Original Floyd Rose (That will fit, right?)

Pickups- J-80C

Pickup Rings/Back Covers- fretsonthenet.com will take care of that

I guess the only problem i have body wise, is that 5 way switch. I have no idea what would fit and what is good quality.

Original Floyd will fit just fine on the original JT-6 posts.

That's easy. Stew-Mac has the Super 5 Way E switch. I have one in my 750XL. You'll get hums, splits, mixed. I get 6 different tones out of my 750XL.

Thanks for that! I looked around while i was there, and i saw that Megaswitch E-Model (is that the one you meant, cause there's no Super E switch?). Anyway, definately interesting!

Yessir! Got one in red. That Kahler has been the bane of my existence. I've tried EVERYTHING to keep that thing in tune. I'm seriously thinking about putting a Floyd on and keeping the Kahler in case I wanted to sell/trade down the road.

Simple solution. Get the Kahler 2700 Killer. It's a direct swap.
